Disabled people protest outside Parliament
A group of disabled people belonging to the Disabled People of South Africa (DPSA) are staging a protest outside Parliament ahead of the State of Nation Address on Tuesday evening.
The group wants President Jacob Zuma to bring back the Department of Women, Children and People living with disabilities. Zuma last month moved disability to the Department of Social Development.
Speaking to SABC Digital News, DPSA’s Western Cape Chairperson Thembinkosi Dyasi says the President did not
consult them before moving them. He says it would have been better if they had moved disability to the presidency.
